Feeling like a cluttered bedroom is hindering your sleep? A pristine and de-cluttered bedroom is crucial for catching those Z's. When your room is filled with dust, dirt, and too many trinkets, it can be a real struggle to unwind and nod off.
This is especially significant if you or someone in your household suffers from allergies. So, setting aside some time to deep clean your home can lead to better sleep quality and a healthier environment for you and your loved ones.

- Dust window blinds.
- Dust the ceiling fan with a microfiber cloth.
- Wipe down wall art, picture frames, or decorations.
- Dust the top and sides of the dresser.
- Dust lamps and lampshades.
- Dust the top and sides of bedside tables.
- Dust the headboard.
If you've got a TV in your room, don't forget to dust that too with a microfiber cloth or electronic wipes. You can also dust the walls and baseboards at this time if you prefer to do so seasonally instead of monthly.
Day 2: Clean Bedroom Furniture
- Remove everything from dressers, sort through them, and throw away or declutter what you no longer need. Wipe out the dresser drawers, then put your clothing back.
- Take items from bedside stands, sort through them, and throw away or declutter unwanted items. Wipe out drawers or shelves, and put your items back in.
- Clean mirrors.
Day 3: Clean the Mattress and Bedding
- Remove bedding and wash it.
- Vacuum the mattress. You can also flip or rotate the mattress at this time.
- Vacuum under the bed.
Since this is a smaller deep cleaning day, go the extra mile by cleaning the windows and curtains if you clean them seasonally. I've recently started cleaning them monthly, so they weren't originally included in this bedroom deep cleaning challenge.
Day 4: Tackle the Closet
- Remove all items and clothing from your closet. Go through your clothes, decide what you want to keep and what you want to part with.
- Vacuum the closet floor.
- Put your clothes back in the closet.
Day 5: Vacuum the Carpets and Floors
- Move any furniture to vacuum underneath.
- Treat any carpet stains.
- Vacuum the entire carpet and floor.
And there you have it! Completing this bedroom deep cleaning challenge should help you avoid the cleaning overwhelm that often comes with tackling a big project like this.
By breaking up these cleaning tasks into manageable chunks, you can take on this deep cleaning over an extended period instead of all at once. I know daily cleaning tasks can feel impossible at times, so I wanted to provide some motivation to clean your home even when you don't feel like it!
