The Christmas season is a time for sparkling decorations and festive cheer, but some trees take this to a whole new level. Here's a look at some of the most expensive Christmas trees ever displayed, adorned with gold, diamonds, and collector coins.

In 2010, a sparkling fir tree in a hotel in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, held the title of the most expensive Christmas tree in the world, valued at over $15 million according to Guinness World Records. This record-setting tree was not only notable for its value but for the luxurious decorations that justified such a high price tag.

Fast forward to 2019, an unconfirmed Christmas tree in a hotel in Marbella, Spain, was estimated to be worth around 14 million euros. Although not confirmed by Guinness World Records, this tree was said to be decorated with diamonds and sapphires, among other things.

In Munich, the Christmas tree is currently on display at Pro Aurum, located at Joseph-Wild-Straße 12. The golden Christmas tree in Munich is not for sale, but its value depends on the current gold price. As of now, it stands at approximately 5.3 million euros and consists of around 63 kilograms of gold. The tree, which stands at nearly three meters in height, is made of an acrylic pyramid and is topped with a large gold coin.

The Christmas tree is adorned with gold jewelry weighing more than 60 kilograms, and it's open for public viewing during the usual opening hours.

By comparison, the famous Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree in New York has featured extravagant elements such as a 900-pound star designed by Daniel Libeskind with 3 million Swarovski crystals, but its overall value does not approach the Dubai tree's or the Munich tree's.

In another notable display, the Christmas tree is adorned with 2,024 collector coins featuring the Vienna Philharmonic. The location of this tree is yet to be confirmed.

Whether you're a fan of the traditional Christmas tree or prefer something a little more extravagant, these glittering displays are sure to leave a lasting impression.

A luxurious lifestyle often reflects in home-and-garden decorations, as evidenced by the expense and extravagance of some Christmas trees. For instance, the Christmas tree at Pro Aurum, Munich, boasts a value of approximately 5.3 million euros due to its 63 kilograms of gold adornments.
