Abensberg: Brothel undergoes comprehensive renovation throughout summer
Abensberg's Cat House Celebrates 28 Years of Operation: Comprehensive Renovation Plans Announced
For a quarter of a century, a small metal-clad building in Abensberg has served as a critical sanctuary for stray cats in the region. Over the years, numerous animals have found new homes, received medical attention, and been supported during challenging times, all thanks to the tireless efforts of volunteer helpers. However, the building's age and wear-and-tear had rendered it increasingly worn out, necessitating a thorough renovation for quite some time.
Renovation Initiative Launched
The Board of Tierhilfe Kelheim e. V. has now sanctioned a comprehensive renovation project. Planned improvements include new floor coverings, windows, and doors, aimed at creating a modern and species-appropriate living environment for the felines. The renovation work is scheduled to commence in June 2025 and is expected to last throughout the summer.
In anticipation of the construction, efforts have been underway since autumn 2024 to find new homes or foster care for all the current residents.
Continued Adoptions
Those seeking a new furry companion can still reach out to Tierhilfe Kelheim directly. The foster homes are ready and looking forward to received inquiries.
Construction Updates and Reopening Information
Regular updates on the construction progress will be shared on the Cat House's social media platforms and website. Information on the planned reopening at the end of the year will be disseminated soon.

Meanwhile, adoptions for new furry companions continue as part of the fashion-and-beauty of Abensberg's Cat House operation.
