Animated film in Yakutian language premieres in Yakutsk
Animated Series "Lessons of the Northern Garganey" Debuts in Yakutsk, Emphasizing Evenki Culture
YAKUTIA.INFO reported the unveiling of the animated series "Lessons of the Northern Garganey" at the DTK - Center for Reading library in Yakutsk. The show, created by animation studio "Oyukluk," is inspired by Evenki folklore and aims to introduce viewers to the culture of this indigenous group.
Attendees of the premiere included students from the unique Evenki class at School No. 26, where the language and culture are taught from the first grade. Also in attendance was Faína Lehanova, an expert from the Institute of National Schools of Yakutia and developer of an Evenki-Russian phrasebook and textbooks. Notably, she contributed to the creation of the series and lent her voice to the Evenki dialect.
The library recognized the significance of the project, stating that it helps safeguard the endangered Evenki language.
