Annual Community Gathering Held at Central Library for Families

Get ready for an exciting afternoon of cultural exploration and creative activities as the International Family Afternoon (IntFaNa) returns to Bochum on September 24. This free event, taking place at the Education and Administration Center, Gustav-Heinemann-Platz 2 - 6, is part of the annual program of the House of Knowledge and is integrated into the city's campaign 'Bochum democratic'.

From 3 to 6 pm, you'll find a diverse program that includes bilingual picture book cinema readings, film screenings, creativity and game tables, and a 'sevengardens laboratory'. There's even a station for space experiments!

The upper floor will host a Japan/Manga meeting as part of the MANGA WEEK 2025, providing information about the history and culture of Japan, due to Bochum's city partnership with Tsukuba in the prefecture of Ibaraki.

The IntFaNa event is a collaborative effort, involving multiple partners in its organization. Besides the Bochum City Library and the Municipal Integration Center Bochum, local cultural institutions, community networks, and other organizations are also participating.

In addition to the event's main activities, you'll also find information about the future location of the Bochum Central Library, the Adult Education Center, and UniverCity e. V. at the House of Knowledge stand.

IntFaNa 2025 is not just an event of the Bochum Central Library, but is also supported by numerous other partners. It's a part of a larger series of events, as it is an action day, and it's a program point of the 50th edition of the Intercultural Week from September 21 to 28.

Join us at IntFaNa 2025 to experience the social diversity and creativity of the city of Bochum, and to celebrate the city's commitment to democracy and cultural exchange. Admission is free, and we look forward to seeing you there!
