Association's National Capital Region Chapter Recognizes ACC CEO Veta T. Richardson with 2025 Distinguished Career Achievement Award
In a celebrated event at the 2025 Corporate Counsel Awards Gala, Veta T. Richardson, the President and CEO of the Association of Corporate Counsel (ACC), was recognised with the Outstanding Career Achievement award. The gala, hosted by ACC's National Capital Region (NCR), took place on Wednesday, July 16, 2025, at Westwood Country Club in Vienna, VA [1][2].
The award is a testament to Richardson's dedication and impact in the field of corporate counsel. Her role extends beyond ACC, encompassing that of a community builder, respected educator, and award-winning thought leader [2].
ACC, an organisation with over 48,000 members employed by over 10,000 organisations and spanning 100+ nations, is a critical resource and community for corporate lawyers worldwide. Under Richardson's leadership, ACC has continued to grow, advocating for the profession and providing essential education, networking, and advocacy services [3].
As the CEO of ACC, Richardson plays a crucial part in shaping strategy, expanding membership benefits, and advancing initiatives that support corporate counsel in navigating complex legal and business challenges. Her recognition is a reflection of her outstanding career and leadership within the association and the broader legal community [1][2][3][5].
Richardson's tenure at ACC has been marked by significant growth. She has led the organisation to over 50,000 members, spanning 117 countries. One of her key initiatives was the expansion of ACC's presence throughout Europe and the launch of new chapters across Asia, Canada, Latin America, the Middle East, and Australia [4].
Prior to her role at ACC, Richardson served as president and executive director of the Minority Corporate Counsel Association (MCCA). Her work at MCCA laid the foundation for transformational diversity and inclusion efforts across the legal profession [6].
Richardson's leadership has also been instrumental in establishing ACC NCR's Street Law partnership, engaging high school students in legal literacy and education. She also awarded early grants that launched ACC NCR's Corporate Scholars Program, which has facilitated internships for over 200 law students [1].
In addition to her role at ACC, Richardson is a board advisor for two legal tech companies and an adjunct professor at Georgetown University Law Center. Her book, Take Six: Essential Habits to Own Your Destiny, Overcome Challenges, and Unlock Opportunities, is an Amazon bestseller [2].
ACC's mission is to connect its members to the people and resources necessary for both personal and professional growth. You can learn more about ACC and stay updated by visiting their website at www.acc.com or following them on LinkedIn, Twitter, and Facebook [3].
