Autumn festival in Giessen commences on the 27th of September
The Giessen Autumn Fair is set to return from September 27th to October 5th, 2025, promising a week of excitement, entertainment, and unforgettable experiences for all ages. Organised by Gießen Marketing, as confirmed by Managing Director Frank Hölscheidt and multiple event announcements, the fair will take place at Ringallee.
The festivities kick off on September 27th at 1:45 PM, with the official opening led by Mayor Frank-Tilo Becher. On this day, all rides will be free between 2:00 and 2:30 PM.
October 4th, 2025, has been designated as Family Day at the Giessen Autumn Fair. On this day, families can enjoy 50% off on amusement rides, 20% off on running and show rides, and at least 20% discount on three selected articles or offers at other stands. Little fair visitors can engage in creative pumpkin carving with Clown Ichmael from the circus tent from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM.
Throughout the fair, attractions cater to various age groups. Adrenaline-junkies can enjoy thrilling rides, while younger children can enjoy rides designed specifically for their safety and enjoyment. The fair also offers nostalgic carnival fun, spooky attractions, and sweet treats to satisfy every sweet tooth.
On Tuesday, September 30th, it's Volunteer Day. Volunteers who show their volunteer card at the Ferris wheel will receive a free ride for themselves and a companion, along with a small snack.
Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, the fair is open from 2:00 PM - 11:00 PM, with food stalls open until midnight. On these days, a fireworks display is scheduled around 9:00 PM on October 2nd.
The fairgrounds will also host a Giant Wheel Mini Picnic, which will be held simultaneously with the opening on September 27th. Registration for this event will be available on the Instagram channel @giesse_entdecken starting September 23rd, 2025.
