Bank of Bottrop granted 'Professional Family' certificate: Progressing towards improved balance of work and family life

Bottrop, Germany is buzzing with activity this summer, as the city continues to grow and evolve in various sectors.

In the realm of tourism, the EXPLORIA Escape Room at ELORIA Erlebnisfabrik & Eventlocation is expanding its offerings. The latest addition, set to open on August 1, 2025, is a seventh mission called "The Disappearance of Isabella Strauß." This immersive crime story will utilise a second-floor area for the first time, as the escape room continues its expansion to become Europe's largest of its kind.

On the industrial front, Panther Packaging's RRK Wellpappenfabrik GmbH & Co. KG is planning a substantial expansion. The company has acquired a neighboring 30,000 m² property and aims to build a new corrugator and warehouse for paper and semi-finished goods. This investment, estimated at around EUR 40 million, targets an increase in production capacity to over 300 million m² annually, along with automation and CO2 emissions reduction.

Infrastructure improvements are also underway, with a significant project involving the replacement of a bridge on the A42 motorway between Bottrop and Essen. German contractor Wasel has been overseeing the heavy lifting required to install new concrete pipe bridge segments, connecting regional refineries with the Bottrop tank farm.

However, it's not all smooth sailing in Bottrop. There have been some setbacks, including a water pipe burst on Sydowstraße, the temporary closure of the on-ramp to A2, a paving repair underway in Essener Straße, and a fire that destroyed a warehouse in the city.

On a brighter note, a dog population census is scheduled to begin in August, and dementia consultation hours are available for those in need.

As Bottrop continues to evolve, it's clear that the city is a hub of activity, offering a mix of challenges and opportunities for its residents and visitors alike.

The upcoming dog population census and the introduction of dementia consultation hours indicate a focus on family-dynamics and relationships within the expanding city of Bottrop, Germany. The prospect of expansion in home-and-garden sectors is further evident with Panther Packaging's substantial investment in a new corrugator and warehouse, reflecting changes in lifestyle and opportunities in the region.
