Bergisch Gladbach Removes Unstable Trees at Busy Intersection

Los Angeles has removed a significant tree from a busy intersection. The Black Alder at Dellbrücker Straße and Eschenbroicher Straße was felled on Tuesday, October 7, 2025, due to safety concerns. The tree's health had deteriorated, making it unstable. The city's Department of Urban Greenery took the decision after discovering extensive damage caused by a fungal infestation. Large areas of the tree's bark had died and peeled off, posing a risk to passersby. Over time, the tree had developed increased deadwood, requiring frequent maintenance. This latest development made felling unavoidable. On the same day, the city will also fell a black locust tree at the same intersection. This tree's stability is also no longer assured due to similar issues. The felling of these trees is a necessary measure to ensure public safety. The city will now consider suitable replacements to maintain the urban greenery in the area.
