Amy Schweinhouse, a one-year-old sow, is named after the late soul singer Amy Winehouse, with a clever pun on "Schwein" (German for pig). Keiler Minogue, a two-year-old boar, is likely named after pop singer Kylie Minogue, combined with "Keiler," the German word for boar.
These boars were relocated from another reserve or breeding center, possibly from a region in Germany or a neighboring country renowned for wild boar population management. They have been introduced to enrich the wildlife diversity and increase visitor interest at the enclosure.
Max, the fallow deer stag, brings robust genetics and vitality to the herd. He was born at the Spandau Forestry Office on June 23, but initially went missing in the storm chaos at the office. After an adequate waiting period, he was deemed healthy and ready to join the Tegeler See enclosure.
Ziros, a piglet born to Amy Schweinhouse on June 26 during a stormy night, completes the family of three. The gender of Ziros is still unknown.
