Burglary Occurs in Weida, as Reported by LPI-G
On the evening of August 30, 2025, a disturbing incident unfolded in Burgstraße/Corner Zimmerstraße, Weida. An 18-year-old man found himself in the midst of a confrontation with a large group of around 20-30 individuals.
The altercation resulted in the man being attacked, injured with punches and kicks, insulted, and robbed of his personal belongings, including a smartphone and a T-shirt of the BSG Wismut Gera club. Tragically, the other perpetrators involved in the incident fled the scene undetected.
Immediate search measures led to the temporary detainment of a 15-year-old suspect, who, along with the 18-year-old victim, showed signs of slight intoxication, with per mille levels of 0.64 and 0.21 respectively.
The Greiz Police Inspectorate has initiated an investigation due to robbery, dangerous bodily harm, and insult. Witnesses who can provide information about the incident or other participants are asked to contact the police at 03661/6210, stating the reference number 0226565/2025.
