Protective Vest Donated to Anamosa State Penitentiary K9 Bradley
Vested Interest in K9s, Inc., a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, has recently provided a protective vest to Anamosa State Penitentiary K9 Bradley. This donation is part of the organization's mission to enhance the safety of law enforcement and related agency working dogs throughout the United States.
Established in 2009, Vested Interest in K9s, Inc. is dedicated to supplying custom-fitted, U.S.-made, National Institute of Justice (NIJ) certified body armor to K9s who serve in law enforcement. The organization relies on private and corporate donors to sponsor these lifesaving vests, ensuring they can be provided at no cost to the agencies or handlers.
To be eligible for a vest, K9s must be at least 20 months old, actively employed, and certified with their agency. Even K9s with expired vests are eligible to participate in the program. Each vest is custom-fitted to the K9 receiving it, ensuring proper protection and comfort.
Since its inception, Vested Interest in K9s, Inc. has provided over 6,159 vests valued at approximately $6.9 million across all 50 U.S. states. This has protected thousands of working K9s who serve their communities daily. Donors, both private individuals and corporations, have the opportunity to financially sponsor protective vests for law enforcement K9s, ensuring these service dogs receive critical body armor during their active duty.
