Charity at Solinger Job Center: 500 Children Receive Presents

In a heartwarming display of community spirit, the municipal job center Solingen, Technical Operations (TBS), and the Wuppertal "Toys Company" joined forces to bring joy to children during the Advent season. The transformation of the Customer Service Center in Solingen into a Christmas wonderland was made possible by the generous donations collected throughout the year.

Sascha von Schwedler, project leader of the "Toys Company", expressed mixed feelings due to the downsizing of the company, which renewed and delivered the toy donations to the job center. The "Toys Company" has a long-standing tradition of collecting well-preserved toys, which were cleaned, sorted, and repaired if necessary by employees of the Wuppertal job center measure "Toys Company".

The Vohwinkel branch of the Wuppertal "Toys Company" will stop operations by the end of the year due to funding reduction. Despite this, around 500 toys found new owners in the second week of December, with children aged 2 to 10 able to choose from a variety of toys, including fairy lights and a Christmas tree.

Mike Häusgen, City service manager, praised the commitment of the cooperation partners, with Julia Heitmann, who accompanied the action, highlighting sustainability as an additional plus. Around 1,700 households were notified about the offer in writing.

The container, which will be accessible during the opening hours of the EBZ (Monday to Friday 7:30 AM to 3:45 PM and Saturday 7:30 AM to 12:15 PM), will collect well-preserved toys in 2025 at the disposal center Bärenloch on Cronenberger Straße 177. The measure will only be offered in the future in Barmen, with a quarter of the current staff.

Sascha von Schwedler, whose "Toys Company" renewed the toy donations, wants to work on a future-proof new corporate structure. For more information about the annual toy collection event organized by the municipal job center Solingen, Technical Operations (TBS), and the Wuppertal "Toys Company" for children of Solingen's citizens receiving benefits, it is recommended to contact the municipal job center of Solingen directly, reach out to the Technical Operations (TBS) department in Solingen, inquire with the Wuppertal "Toys Company", check the official website or social media channels of Solingen's city government or social services, or look for local news articles or community bulletin boards covering charity or social benefit events in Solingen.

Sascha von Schwedler, the project leader of the "Toys Company," also emphasized the importance of promoting sustainable living by donating well-preserved toys instead of discarding them, thus contributing to a sustainable lifestyle within the home-and-garden domain. Mike Häusgen, City service manager, assured that the annual toy collection event will continue in Barmen next year, focusing on a quarter of the current staff, with the collection point open during the same hours.
