Mata Baglamukhi Temple Ropeway: A New Journey in Himachal Pradesh
Chief Minister of Himachal Prag DESH lays the groundwork for Mata Baglamukhi Cable Car, anticipated to enhance tourism in Mandi district.
The Himachal Pradesh government is gearing up to establish Mandi as a significant tourist attraction by constructing a ropeway to the Mata Baglamukhi Temple situated near Pandoh in Mandi district. This project, worth Rs 50 crore, will be the first of its kind in the state, thanks to the Government of India allowing the construction of ropeways through NABARD funds for rural connectivity.
Skip the Long Haul: Reach the Temple in 5 Minutes
Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur announced that the ropeway will be 800 meters long and will pass over the river Beas. With this state-of-the-art ropeway, travel time from Pandoh to the temple will be reduced to a mere five minutes. The project will be executed by M/S Doppelmayr India Pvt Ltd and BEKAM Infra Ltd, using Aerial Tram Way technology and adhering to CEN Standards.
Reduced Travel Time, More Time for Fun
The chief minister also shared that they have proposed four additional ropeway projects for funding to the centre, aiming to bolster tourism in the region. Among these projects is the ropeway from Bharmour to Bharmani Mata Temple in Chamba district, which is slated for a construction cost of Rs 120 crore.
Shimla, Not Just the Hill Station
Eco-Park at Bakhli and the first phase of Shiv Dham are under development and are expected to be finished within a month. These projects aim to provide an enhanced tourist experience and further promote the region as a popular tourist destination. The government is also developing various new destinations such as Largi, Pong Dam, and Kol Dams as water sports destinations, Bir-Billing as an adventure sports destination, and Chanshal as a winter sports destination.
The Janjehli area in Mandi district is being developed as an eco-tourism destination, showcasing the state's commitment to fostering tourism and preserving its natural beauty.
Turning Himachal into an Industrial Hub

In 2019, the Global Investor's Meet was held at Dharamshala in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and talks of investments worth Rs 28,197 crore were initiated. The government has approved the construction of the first Medical Device Park in Nalagarh, at a project cost of approximately Rs 350 crores, with a grant of 100 crores from the Government of India.
