Get ready for a vibrant and exciting weekend as Essen's Street Art Festival is set to take place in the city centre on August 9th and 10th.
This two-day event will see performances on four different stages located at Kennedyplatz, Marktkirche, Burgplatz, and Kettwiger Straße/Zwölfling. The festivities will feature street artists from seven countries, promising a diverse and captivating experience.
The festival will kick off with a parade at 12:15 PM on Saturday, starting from in front of the Marktkirche, inviting visitors to join in the fun. The parade will lead to the official opening of the festival at the Marktkirche.
Performances will include acrobatics, comedy, music, and artistry. Some highlights include Las Calaveras' mystical fire show with macabre elements, the Zirculo Circo from Mexico presenting contortions and balance acts, and Victor Rubilar, a master of balls and good mood from Argentina.
On Saturday afternoon, the creative spot will host a dance workshop for local artists at 2:30 PM, followed by juggling workshops at 3:30 PM. From 4:30 PM, acrobats from the region are invited to network at the creative spot. On Sunday, the creative spot will offer an open stage for artists, talents, athletes, and musicians aged six and above.
