The Pro Düsseldorf association has announced that the annual "Dreck-weg-Tag" (Clean-up Day) will take place on June 12, 2021, from 10 am to 1 pm. This event, aimed at keeping the city clean and green, will follow a distance and hygiene concept to ensure all safety regulations are met.

However, activities involving kindergartens and schools have been cancelled due to the current uncertainty and the long lead time required for their organisation, which was not feasible given the current situation.

Participants are encouraged to collect materials from various locations across the city, but must pick up their materials themselves in the week before the Clean-up Day at Am Draap 17. Registration for the event can be done via the official website www.dreck-weg-tag.de.

AWISTA CEO Jörg Müller has highlighted the issues with used masks and packaging waste as major concerns, particularly around 'to go' businesses, due to the coronavirus pandemic. The Clean-up Day will aim to address these issues, with all students welcome to participate in the "regular" event.

The Clean-up Day has had to be postponed twice in 2021 due to the ongoing pandemic. Despite the challenges, organisers remain committed to promoting a clean and sustainable city. For the most up-to-date information and details about the 2021 Clean-up Day, we recommend visiting the official Düsseldorf city website or local community service pages.

Engaging in outdoor-living and enhancing home-and-garden environments are contributory factors to promoting a clean and sustainable city.
