The Leipzig Monument Foundation is set to host the DENKMAL-Hofmarkt event on August 30th, 2025, inviting vendors and visitors alike to celebrate the city's rich architectural heritage. The event will take place at Lützner Straße 39, in the courtyard and garden of an 1834-built farmhouse that serves as the foundation's headquarters.

The DENKMAL-Hofmarkt aims to build upon the tradition of Leipzig's flea markets, while focusing on items related to monument preservation, architecture, construction culture, and craftsmanship. Vendors interested in participating can register by contacting the foundation via their official website or email ([email protected]) before the deadline of August 24th, 2025.

The event will feature a variety of vendors, including Carl Olav Petersen, a carpenter who will be presenting old craftsmanship. Stands for vendors can be up to 2 m2 in size. The Saxon Monument Network, an active part of the foundation, will also be present, with a focus on preserving architectural heritage in rural areas.

Visitors can expect demonstrations of old craftsmanship and opportunities for conversations with various actors in monument preservation. The event will run from 2 PM to 6 PM, and is open to the public.

The Saxon Monument Network, operators of the Denkmalradar - a list of endangered monuments, welcome visionaries and doers in the field of monument preservation to join the event. The DENKMAL-Hofmarkt is an excellent opportunity to engage with the community, raise awareness about monument preservation, and celebrate historical architecture.

In addition to the marketplace, the event will also include workshops and presentations that highlight traditional crafts, restoration techniques, and the cultural value of monuments in Leipzig and beyond. By involving local vendors and engaging visitors, the event promotes cultural education and sustainable practices in monument care.

Regular DENKMAL-Rundgänge & -Vorträge are offered by the foundation, providing insights into their mission to preserve Leipzig and the region's architectural heritage. If you're interested in participating or learning more about the event, be sure to check the Leipzig Monument Foundation's official website for the most current registration details and deadlines. Tables and chairs will be provided free of charge for vendors at the DENKMAL-Hofmarkt.

The DENKMAL-Hofmarkt is not only a marketplace for vendors selling items related to monument preservation, architecture, and craftsmanship, but also a platform for workshops and presentations showcasing traditional crafts, restoration techniques, and the cultural value of monuments.

Visitors can look forward to engaging with various actors in monument preservation, learning about sustainable practices in monument care, and celebrating historical architecture at the DENKMAL-Hofmarkt, which takes place in the home-and-garden setting of an 1834-built farmhouse.
