Dubai's Harvey Nichols Shopping Destination
In the heart of the Mall of the Emirates, luxury fashion retailer Harvey Nichols is set to unveil its newly refurbished store, a 3-level space that promises an immersive shopping experience. The design of this flagship store is the result of a successful collaboration between Virgile + Partners and Harvey Nichols, a partnership that spanned almost two years.
Virgile + Partners, a renowned design firm established in 1990, brings together a team of interior designers, brand strategists, architects, graphic/digital designers, and more. With a reputation for innovative and personal design, the firm has worked with prestigious brands such as Burberry, Yves St. Laurent, Tiffany, Hyatt, Ritz Carlton, and Oberoi.
The design strategy for Harvey Nichols Dubai is reminiscent of the brand's previous work in the UK. The full refurbishment was driven by the client's desire for immediate impact as customers enter the fashion space. The 360 sqm 'boutique' department on the first-floor level, located along the front facade, acts as a welcoming beacon into Harvey Nichols.
Furniture and hanging display devices are integrated into the design, along with unusual materials such as plaster bricks and fine wires. The design uses sculptural objects to highlight seven different spaces, creating an organic and fluid road through the store.
One of the unique features of the Dubai store is the Edgy Designer department, which houses brands such as Roksanda, Roland Mouret, and Zimmermann. The department's design communicates the innate distinctive Harvey Nichols brand character, giving it a quirky and eccentric personality.
Virgile + Partners' work on the Harvey Nichols Dubai store is part of their extensive portfolio. The firm has offices in the Americas (New York, Detroit, Los Angeles), Asia Pacific (Hong Kong, Shanghai, Sydney), and the Middle East (Doha, Dubai, Mumbai). The redesign of Harvey Nichols in Dubai was also a collaboration with G.A Design, who were responsible for the design of the Harvey Nichols Birmingham Mailbox and Knightsbridge Flagship stores in the United Kingdom.
The team at Virgile + Partners has also left its mark on the imagery used by Harvey Nichols, with the designs now forming part of their global brand identity. As the completion of the Harvey Nichols Dubai store nears, anticipation builds for the unveiling of this exciting new retail space.
