Dusseldorf halts the "Power of Women" tour featuring queens and heroines
Mime Group's Universal Performance Inspires Düsseldorf Audience
The Mutmachtour, an internationally acclaimed pantomime group, brought their wordless stories of unity, hope, and self-confidence to Lessing Square in Düsseldorf, Germany on Friday, 16th of May. The performance, organised by the art and culture association "Queens and Heroes", was a resounding success, attracting a large and enthusiastic crowd.
The Mutmachtour, founded nearly 20 years ago by pantomime artist Nemo and Wolfgang Neuhausen, is currently performing in Düsseldorf until June 17, 2025. The South African artists of the group express themselves beautifully without many props, using the universal language of mime to connect with audiences across cultures and countries.
The Mutmachtour's performance at Lessing Square was more than just an entertaining show; it was a message to "Do what I do!" The audience was encouraged to participate, with many joining in and continuing the story. The square started filling up at 3 pm, as school ended next door, and the energy was palpable.
The Mutmachtour's international project aims to foster understanding and motivate individuals by promoting courage, hope, and solidarity through artistic expression. Through performances and workshops, they seek to connect diverse audiences, share positive messages, and create a sense of community and mutual encouragement beyond borders.
The "Mime Art for Life" team, led by Nemo, still has a few dates available for hosting. Interested parties can send a request to [email protected] or call 0211 3230724 for more information. For those who attended, it was clear that pantomime connects all people, regardless of language skills.
After the performance, the Mutmachtour team expressed their pleasure at the many spectators. The "Queens and Heroes" team provided drinks and waffles, adding to the festive atmosphere. More information about the Mutmachtour project can be found at www.mutmachen.de.
The Mutmachtour has since become an international project, with the group touring worldwide to build bridges between people and promote a spirit of resilience and openness. Their commitment to using art as a means of empowerment and social connection, especially in times of uncertainty or difficulty, is evident in their performances and the impact they have on their audiences.
The international project by Mutmachtour, "Mime Art for Life," extends beyond their wordless stories on stage, reaching into the realms of home-and-garden lifestyle, as they aim to connect diverse audiences and create a sense of community and mutual encouragement beyond borders. After the performance, spectators were invited to continue the festive atmosphere, enjoying drinks and waffles provided by the "Queens and Heroes" team, reflecting the group's lifestyle values of unity and shared experiences.
