Dusseldorf Offers Dance Classes: Catering to both wheelchair users and able-bodied individuals, disco fox and other dance styles are being taught.
The association "TanzenInklusiv NRW" is set to start a new inclusive dance course in Düsseldorf on January 17, 2025. This course, funded by the federal program "Social Cohesion", the state of NRW, and the state capital Düsseldorf, will take place at the Rather Family Center, located at Rather Kreuzweg 43, 40472 Düsseldorf.
This dance course is open to all, regardless of whether one partner is in a wheelchair. It is a wonderful sport, according to the association, that demonstrates wheelchair users can dance well on the dance floor. The course is suitable for beginners and will teach basic steps and figures of various dances, including Disco-Fox and Slow Waltz, as well as line dances.
The course, which will be taught by dance teacher Anne Wichmann, will start on Friday, January 17, 2025, at 6 pm. It is possible to join the course at any time, and after the initial start date, there will be follow-up dates every two weeks. Each session of the course costs five euros.
