Eco-Model Region Landshut & BUND Feed 2,500 First-Graders Organic Lunch Boxes

The Eco-Model Region Landshut and BUND Nature Conservation Local Group Landshut joined forces to distribute organic lunch boxes to first-graders. Around 2,500 students benefited from the initiative, which aims to promote healthy eating habits.

The event was made possible by the 'Bayerisches Staatsministerium für Umwelt und Verbraucherschutz' (Bavarian State Ministry for the Environment and Consumer Protection), which provided eco-small project funding. The lunch boxes were filled with locally sourced organic products like bread, carrots, and fresh cheese.

Deputy Mayor Dr. Thomas Haslinger stepped in for Mayor Alexander Putz to help distribute the meals. Alongside the tasty contents, students received age-appropriate information about balanced nutrition and locally produced organic products. The action is set to continue annually, encouraging children's appetite for healthy food and motivating parents towards sustainable snacking.

The organic lunch box action, a collaboration between the Eco-Model Region Landshut and BUND, successfully provided around 2,500 first-graders with a healthy, locally sourced meal. The initiative, backed by the Bavarian State Ministry and numerous donors, seeks to foster healthy eating awareness among the youngest children.
