Employee Remains Tied to Volkswagen Despite Efforts to Depart

From the Kind-Hearted Wheels of Brunswick:

Get ready for another heartwarming tale, folks. This time it's about André Ebeling, a dedicated VW employee from Brunswick, who's got a peculiar affection for the hospice, "Löwenherz" in Syke near Bremen.

André's Charity Cycling Crusade

Eight years ago, André kicked off his charity project, "Cycling for Löwenherz," with an initial donation of 130 euros. Over the years, however, his humble collection has morphed into a substantial 8,000 euros last year, all headed straight to the kids at "Löwenherz." According to André, "This cause rips my heart out every year, and I'm beyond grateful to be making a difference for such a noble institution."

A Bitter Twist of Fate:

The VW shift worker sources his donations through various means, like the upcoming Charity Day at Hygia fitness studio in Brunswick in September. With a range of activities like fitness courses, special sauna treatments, food trucks, and kids' activities, the event proved to be a massive hit last year, says André.

His commitment to "Löwenherz" doesn't stop at financially supporting the hospice. André sets an example by planning to cycle the estimated 180 kilometers from Brunswick to Syke, symbolically returning the money he raises in a bicycle tour. The children's hospice will celebrate its birthday on September 20, and André will be there to join the party. He plans to kick off his epic night tour, astride a blue touring bicycle, from the Eintracht Stadium in Brunswick, subject to the weather, of course. He reckons it'll take around 14 hours to cover the distance.
