Exuberant Celebration at Rödinghausen Fruit Festival
Get ready for a fun-filled weekend as the Gut Rodinghausen Obstfest returns on September 20th and 21st! Located at Fischkuhle 15, Gutshof of Gut Rodinghausen, this event promises a colorful framework program of information, entertainment, and catering offers, all free for the public.
Entertainment Galore
On both days, visitors can enjoy live performances. On Saturday, the Duo Krause Dellwig and the Hemer Orchestra under the direction of Felix Piltz will entertain the crowd with their music from 2 pm. On Sunday, the Bieberschlümpfe Lendringsen will take over Campi's BBQ, offering homemade potato pancakes with apple sauce and grilled curry sausage.
Artistic Delights
The "Art in the fruit box" program, primarily aimed at children between 6 and 10 years old, offers a creative outlet for the little ones. Younger children are also welcome to join in the fun with their parents or grandparents. Registration for this program is required by phone or email. Three outstanding fruit boxes from the program will receive a small prize.
At several stations, visitors can create a nature motif using stencil printing, with no registration needed. Additionally, the special exhibition "Dirk Vogel. Perspectives" and installations from this year's KunstFest PASSAGEN project "Art Gone Wild" will be on display. Unfortunately, no relevant information about the artist engaged for the fruit festival in Menden and their creative program reflecting the colors and shapes of autumn was found.
Taste the Season
Food lovers will be in for a treat with the various catering options available. Campi's BBQ serves crispy chicken buns with BBQ fruit sauce, grilled and curry sausage, and fries. The Obst Imkerei provides homemade honey-fruit preparations, and the daycare center "Regenbogenland" offers various homemade fruit cakes, fruit juices, and non-alcoholic fruit cocktails. Artisan fruit ice cream from the ice cream factory Nino & Sarah is also available.
Educational Activities
For those interested in learning more about fruits and bees, the regional center for the Märkischer Kreis Arche Noah Menden offers apple tasting and fresh apple juice under the motto "Taste & Information". Small and large visitors can also participate in a bee quiz and a blossom and fruit quiz.
Practical Information
The event takes place from 11 am to 6 pm, and free public parking is available at Fischkuhle 10, OBO Bettermann at Fischkuhle, and Tor 4 on Hüingser Ring. Helmut Kruse has even painted bananas on the ground to guide visitors to the fruit festival.
