Festival in Dietfurt has commenced
The Seven Táler Volksfest, a cherished local tradition, began in the picturesque town of Dietfurt, Neumarkt district, on Thursday evening. The event, which will last for five days, was officially opened by Mayor Bernd Mayr (FW) of Dietfurt.
The first evening was marked by a lively procession, with a large group of members from Dietfurt's various clubs and associations gathering around the Chinese fountain. The brewery wagon of the Deflorin family from Deining, complete with four sturdy draft horses, was a sight to behold. The procession was accompanied by a brass band, with the Dietfurter and Kolping Kapelle alternating in performance.
Mayor Bernd Mayr (FW) tapped the beer keg to mark the start of the event, a tradition he shared with Festwirt Friedrich Riemhofer. The first filled mugs were given to guests of honor by Mr. Riemhofer.
The highlight of the first evening was the election of the new Seven Táler queen, a report on which is expected to follow. Dirk Lippmann (SPD) from Pyrbaum stood in for the ill Willibald Gailler at the event.
