In the heart of Gütersloh, Germany, a unique cultural event is unfolding as part of the city's bicentennial celebrations. Two diverse exhibitions, "C-City - Europe Lies Next Door" and the "C-City Amateur Project: Connecting Europe," are set to captivate audiences from 3rd September to October.

The Town Hall's Gallery will host "C-City - Europe Lies Next Door," a group exhibition featuring contemporary artworks with local connections. Artists hailing from Broxtowe (UK), Châteauroux (FR), Falun (SE), and Grudziądz (PL), alongside home-grown talent, will showcase their works. Notable contributions include those by illustrator and designer Toby Anderton, photographer Lesley Grand-Scrutton, artist and Parkinson's activist Jane Shipton from England, and interdisciplinary street graffiti artist XOOOOX.

Meanwhile, the Serpil Neuhaus Gallery will present the "C-City Amateur Project" exhibition, featuring works by amateur artists from the five partner cities of the C-City network.

French photographer Bruno Dewaele offers a visual treasure hunt, while Swedish artist Nina Edling, a long-standing member of the Falun Art Association, will display some of her works. Poland is represented by SOMEART, an interdisciplinary street art artist who graduated from several art schools specializing in computer graphics and photography.

These exhibitions are part of the C-City cultural network's creative projects and joint cultural initiatives, focusing on six themes: Visual Arts, History, Sports, Performing Arts, Food & Lifestyle, and Youth Democracy.

The public opening for both exhibitions is on 2nd September at 7 pm, with registration required at kvnrxgtrslhd. Experience the vibrant fusion of European cultures and local talent in this unmissable celebration of art and community.
