Gathering for the LGBTQ+ Population
Vélez-Málaga is set to host a new edition of LGBTQ+ theatre workshops starting October 6, organised by the Bosco Vida Association. These workshops, which will take place every Monday from 7 PM to 8:30 PM at the Social Services building, aim at self-expression, community building, and personal growth.
The workshops cover various aspects of theatre, including body expression, breathing exercises, vocal techniques, acting, and improvisation. They provide a safe space for participants to express themselves, share experiences, and explore the world of theatre through an LGBTQ+ lens. The creative perspective offered by these workshops offers a unique and inspiring outlook on the community's journey.
Participants will be led by Miguel Ángel Garnica and Marisa Rodríguez, the leaders of the LGBTQ+ theater workshops. Antonio Bosco, president of the Bosco Vida Association, mentioned that people who participate in the workshops often leave feeling more confident, empowered, and able to face life with a bit of humor.
The LGBTQ+ theatre workshops in Vélez-Malaga are open to all and are completely free. Interested individuals can sign up for the workshops by calling 667 265 305.
The workshops were announced by Jesús Perez Atencia, the town's first deputy mayor, Juan García, Social Affairs councillor, and Antonio Bosco, president of the Bosco Vida Association. The workshops were seen as a powerful tool for promoting equality and fighting discrimination. Last year's edition of the workshops was a success, according to Juan García, as they gave a voice to the LGBTQ+ community.
The workshops will conclude with a public showcase, where participants will have the opportunity to present their work. The town of Vélez-Málaga is eager to support these workshops and encourages everyone to participate and experience the transformative power of theatre.
