GB Railfreight & Porterbrook Team Up for 100 Greenbrier Intermodal Twins by Summer 2023

GB Railfreight (GBRf) has teamed up with Porterbrook to produce 100 Greenbrier 60' intermodal twins. The project, set to be completed by summer 2023, is a significant step towards promoting sustainable and low-carbon freight transport. John Smith OBE, CEO of GB Railfreight, expressed his delight in partnering with Porterbrook for this venture.

The manufacturing process will deliver ten intermodal twin wagons per month, ensuring all 100 are operational by the specified deadline. The contract will run on a ten-year dry lease. Mary Grant, Porterbrook's CEO, welcomed the partnership, stating that GBRf's choice to work with Porterbrook signals a renewed commitment to investing in rail-freight. The first batch of wagons is anticipated to roll off the production line in August 2022.
