Girard-Perregaux refreshes the Laureato Skeleton model, featuring black ceramic, yet availability remains limited

The luxury watch industry has a new addition to its roster, with the debut of the Girard-Perregaux Laureato Skeleton Aston Martin Edition. This collaboration between Girard-Perregaux and Aston Martin showcases the perfect blend of high-end horology and high-performance automotive design.

The watch boasts a 42mm case crafted from black ceramic, a material seven times harder than steel, making it lightweight, hypoallergenic, and scratch-resistant. The design harks back to the iconic 1975 Laureato, featuring an octagonal bezel and integrated bracelet, polished and satin-finished for a sophisticated look.

Underneath the skeletonised dial lies the in-house automatic GP01800 calibre movement, featuring an openworked design that showcases exquisite craftsmanship. The movement houses 55 hand-finished internal angles, hand-beveled, sandblasted, and decorated bridges with anthracite PVD treatment, and a visible mainspring at 6 o'clock. The 4 Hz (28,800 vph) movement includes a variable inertia balance for superior precision and offers a 54-hour power reserve.

Distinctive features reflecting Aston Martin include green luminescent hour markers and hands treated with green PVD, a small green skeletonised running seconds hand at 10 o'clock, and on the sapphire caseback, a metallized Aston Martin logo along with a pink-gold rotor also treated with green PVD to match Aston Martin's racing livery. The watch is water-resistant to 100 meters and fitted with a deployment clasp.

This limited-edition timepiece is a rare find, with only 88 pieces available worldwide. It is priced around EUR 57,200 to USD 64,080, making it a coveted piece for watch collectors and Aston Martin enthusiasts alike.

The Laureato Skeleton Aston Martin Edition is a testament to the precision, craftsmanship, and aesthetics inspired by both watchmaking and automotive engineering traditions. It is a visually striking timepiece that offers a glimpse into the intricate workings of the watch's movement, while maintaining the iconic Racing Green colour associated with Aston Martin.

This collaboration between Girard-Perregaux and Aston Martin marks another successful venture in their ongoing partnership, which began in 2021. The Laureato Absolute Aston Martin, another collaboration between the two brands, was a previous testament to their shared passion for excellence.

For watch enthusiasts and Aston Martin fans alike, the Laureato Skeleton Aston Martin Edition is a must-have addition to any collection. Its limited availability and striking design make it a desirable piece that is sure to turn heads and impress.
