Polestar 4: A Connected and Entertaining Electric Vehicle Experience
Polestar, the electric performance car brand, continues to push the boundaries of in-car technology with the introduction of the Polestar 4. This latest model offers a seamless blend of car functionality and entertainment, making every journey an enjoyable one.
At the heart of the Polestar 4 is a 15.4-inch, frameless centre display. With a resolution of 1920 x 1200 pixels and a landscape orientation, this high-resolution screen serves as the central command centre for the car's functions. The interface is designed to make using apps and car functions more intuitive, ensuring a smooth and hassle-free driving experience.
The Polestar 4, like its predecessors Polestar 2 and Polestar 3, offers Apple CarPlay support. Both wired and wireless connections are available, with the Polestar 4 boasting a wireless connection for added convenience. This allows drivers to access their favourite apps, including entertainment options like Prime Video, YouTube, Tidal, and gaming apps like Gamesnacks, directly from the car's touchscreen.
The Polestar 4's in-car entertainment system is not just about screen size and resolution. It also caters to personalisation, remembering the settings and preferences of up to six drivers. This means that each driver can customise their in-car experience according to their preferences, creating a truly personalised driving environment.
But the Polestar 4 is more than just a connected car. It's a smart car. The first three years of in-car data are included in the price, keeping the car constantly connected to the Internet. This enables features like Google Assistant, which can read out emails, reply to text messages, and remind drivers of important calendar entries. Google Home Integration is also available, allowing drivers to check on car battery charge status, activate climate functions, and control smart home devices.
Integrating a Polestar into the Google Home ecosystem further enhances the driving experience. Drivers can control vehicle functions using a smart speaker or activate smart home devices from the vehicle, creating a connected home-to-car experience.
The Polestar 3, while not as feature-rich in terms of in-car entertainment, does not fall short in other areas. It comes equipped with a 9-inch display and preconfigured modes that provide necessary information like speed, battery status, navigation, and driver assistance information.
Polestar vehicles also feature a bespoke Bowers & Wilkins audio system for high-quality music playback, ensuring every journey is accompanied by excellent sound quality.
Electric vehicle charging breaks are not just about waiting for the battery to recharge. They offer a convenient time to enjoy entertainment options. Charging breaks typically take around half an hour or less, making it a perfect opportunity to catch up on a movie, play a game, or respond to emails using the Google Automotive Keyboard app, which transforms the Polestar touchscreen into a computer keyboard for work and home-life tasks.
Whether you're a professional cyclist like the late Marco Pantani or a busy commuter, the Polestar 4 offers a connected, entertaining, and high-quality driving experience that caters to your needs.
