Hamburg's Oktoberfest celebration in full swing

In the heart of Hamburg, Germany, the Oktoberfest festivities are set to begin, with various locations offering a taste of Bavarian culture and home-brewed beer.

On September 20th, the world's largest folk festival, traditionally starting in Munich, will have its local counterpart at the Wandsbek market. The Wandsbeker Oktoberfest, the largest in the north, will span over 1,500 square meters of festival tent, welcoming around 20,000 guests to celebrate and enjoy original Oktoberfest beer.

At the Esplanade and Speersort Hofbräu Wirtshäuser, the Oktoberfest spirit will be alive from September 20th until October 11th. The Esplanade Hofbräu Wirtshäuser will be open from Sunday to Thursday from 10-24, and Friday and Saturday from 10-1, serving beer. The Speersort Hofbräu Wirtshäuser will follow a similar schedule, opening Monday to Thursday from 11-24, Friday and Saturday from 11-1, and Sunday from 11-23, offering beer.

Across the city, Blockbräu will also join the Oktoberfest celebrations. Blockbräu's "Blocktoberfest" will take place directly at the harbor, offering a view of the Elbe, and will continue until September 28th. The celebration will feature home-brewed festival beer, live bands, DJs, and will be open daily from 11-23.

At the Fischauktionshalle, Oktoberfest will take place directly at the Elbe market from October 3rd to 18th. Fridays and Saturdays will see extended hours until 1am. Here, visitors can enjoy Bavarian specialties, freshly tapped beer, and live music.

So, whether you're in the mood for a traditional Bavarian experience, a lively harbourside party, or a bustling market celebration, Hamburg has an Oktoberfest event for you, offering plenty of beer. Prost!
