Job Fair on April 25: Connecting Kentuckians with Disabilities to Employment Opportunities

Brittney Burkholder, Director of Supported Employment at The Point/Arc's Zembrodt Education Center, is hosting a Job Fair on April 25, 2023. The event, free for both attendees and vendors, aims to connect potential employees with various companies. Burkholder, renowned in Kentucky for her work in supportive employment, hopes to integrate as many people with disabilities into jobs as possible.

The Job Fair takes place from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 104 W. Pike Street. Burkholder's four-point system for matching clients with jobs involves getting to know the client, writing a plan, discussing their interests, and finding a suitable position. She receives referrals from the Office of Vocational Rehabilitation for clients aged 16 to 60. Burkholder has been with The Point/Arc's ZEC for three years, helping revive the Supported Employment program. The Point/Arc, established in 1972, supports people with disabilities in education, socialization, residence, and vocational pursuits.
