Johnson County Fair Begins this Friday
Johnson County Fair and Rodeo 2025: A Week-Long Celebration of Agriculture and Community
The much-anticipated Johnson County Fair and Rodeo is set to return from Friday, July 25 to Sunday, August 3, 2025, in Buffalo. This annual event promises a week filled with fun, entertainment, and a celebration of agriculture and the local community.
The fair and rodeo will kick off on Friday, July 25, with the Fabric and Fashion contest as one of the opening activities. The Fabric and Fashion judging and the Make-it-With-Wool contest are scheduled for the same day. Friday is also the Youth Rodeo day, providing a platform for young talents to showcase their skills.
On Tuesday, July 29, the fair will celebrate Swine Day, while Wednesday is designated as Sheep Day. The Horse Show, Cat Show, Pocket Pets judging, and Open Class judging will take place on Monday, August 1.
The Rodeo features slack rounds on July 31 and August 1 before the main rodeo events. Ranch Sorting is scheduled for Saturday, August 3, adding to the excitement of the final day of the fair.
On Sunday, August 3, the fair will conclude with dog races on the track in the arena, along with the Dog Show, Horse Show, and the acceptance of Open Class Exhibits.
The Fair and Rodeo Parade, with the theme of "Stars, Stripes, and Spurs," will take place on Saturday, August 2. FFA exhibits are due at the fair during the week, but specific dates have not been announced.
