Join Free 'Art Break at Lunchtime' to Explore Jean Paul's Life and Works

Mark your calendars for Wednesday, October 8th, at 12:30 PM. The Friends of the Museums around Bamberg Cathedral invite you to a free 'Art Break at Lunchtime' event at the State Library. No registration is needed, and all are welcome.

The event will be led by Dr. Stefan Knoch, Deputy Director of the Library, who will guide you through a one-hour tour discussing the life, work, and reception of Jean Paul. You'll see selected letters from Jean Paul to Emanuel Osmund, along with graphics and first editions of his works, including the notable 'Hesperus, oder 45. Hundsposttage' published around 1795-1796.

This event is part of the ongoing exhibition celebrating the 200th anniversary of Jean Paul's death. The meeting point for the tour is the entrance area of the State Library Bamberg in the New Residence, Domplatz 8.

Join us for this free and insightful event to learn more about Jean Paul's impact on literature. The exhibition runs until December 13, 2025, so there's plenty of time to explore the most important works related to Jean Paul, including selected letters and first editions of his works.
