KliX³-Tour Engages Germans in Climate Neutrality by 2030

The KliX³-Tour, a climate initiative, is currently traversing Germany, visiting multiple partner municipalities like Karlsruhe. The tour, part of the 'Next stop: Your Big Point!' campaign, aims to engage households in climate protection. So far, over 1500 people have joined, compensating at least 660 tons of CO2.

KliX³ helps participants calculate their personal emissions using a CO2 calculator, considering factors like housing, energy consumption, mobility, diet, and other consumption. Initial analyses reveal that participants have lower housing emissions than the average German population, likely due to the use of renewable energy sources and efficient heating methods.

The project encourages participants to choose and implement emission reduction measures. It supports them in offsetting their remaining emissions through climate protection projects, making their carbon footprint neutral. Germany aims to be climate neutral by 2045, with some cities targeting even earlier dates. Southwestern Germany, including partner municipalities, often experiences heat records, highlighting the urgency of climate change action.

The KliX³-Tour, which includes stops in partner municipalities like Karlsruhe, is a participatory action and real experiment. It aims to help people become climate neutral by 2030. With average temperatures rising and extreme weather events increasing, the initiative seeks to win more households for climate protection, making a significant impact on Germany's climate goals.
