Leipzig Zoo GiveNames to Newborn Lion Cubs
The four-month-old lion cubs at Leipzig Zoo are thriving, according to the zoo's latest updates. These cubs, currently residing at the zoo, have recently been given their names, chosen through a voting process among more than 6,000 zoo visitors.
The female cub has been named Malu, which means 'the Untamed' in the Tswana language. Malu can be seen daily in the lion cave or on the lion savannah at Leipzig Zoo.
The male cubs have been named Themba, Amaru, and Bahati. The names Themba, Amaru, and Bahati represent Hope, Strength, and Luck, respectively.
Themba, the male cub representing Hope, can also be seen daily in the lion enclosure. Amaru, symbolising Strength, and Bahati, representing Luck, are also part of the daily line-up.
Visitors to Leipzig Zoo have the opportunity to catch a glimpse of these growing cubs as they explore their surroundings and continue to develop under the watchful eyes of their caretakers. It's an exciting time for the zoo and its visitors as these young lions continue to grow and adapt.
Malu, the female cub, is not only residing in the lion cave and lion savannah at Leipzig Zoo but also shares her enclosure with the male cubs named Themba, Amaru, and Bahati. These cubs' names represent Hope, Strength, and Luck, and their lifestyle includes exploring various home-and-garden areas within the zoo, under the care of their caretakers, while also interacting with pets like other lions.
