Mahé Cookery School Opens in Padstow: Daytime Classes, Evening Chef's Table
Mahé Cookery School, a new venture by the Ainsworth family, has opened in Padstow. The school offers daytime classes led by executive chef John Walton and transforms into an exclusive chef's table experience in the evenings.
The cookery school is named after the Seychelles island where Paul Ainsworth's parents first met, symbolising new beginnings. It occupies a space previously used as a one-bedroom flat, now transformed into an intimate culinary hub.
Emma Ainsworth and Eve Cullen-Cornes, an interior designer from Jonathan Cornes Associates, designed the cookery school. Eve's unique touch is evident in the upholstered velvet front doors and bike wheel chandeliers, creating a glamorous and luxurious atmosphere. The 'story so far' wall tells the Ainsworth family's culinary journey.
Daytime classes are held from Thursday to Saturday, accommodating up to six people. In the evenings, from Wednesday to Saturday, Mahé becomes a ten-seater chef's table experience, also overseen by John Walton. The space is equipped with joinery work by Johnson Carpentry and Joinery and electrical installations by AMPS Electrical Services Ltd.
Mahé Cookery School offers a unique culinary experience, combining a cookery school by day and an exclusive chef's table by night. The space, designed by Emma Ainsworth and Eve Cullen-Cornes, showcases Cornish produce and the Ainsworth family's culinary story.
