On the 12th and 13th of October, Schönborn Castle will transform into a medieval wonderland, hosting a medieval market for a captivating weekend of entertainment and crafts.

From 12:00 noon on Saturday until 10:00 pm, and from 11:00 am to 6:00 pm on Sunday, visitors can immerse themselves in the enchanting atmosphere of the Middle Ages. Over 50 skilled craftsmen will demonstrate their traditional skills, including shoemakers, potters, and leatherworkers.

The market will offer a variety of medieval specialties, such as spit-roasted meat, filled flatbreads, and a selection of mead to complement the authentic culinary experience. Taverns and Café Historica will serve these delicacies throughout the day.

For those seeking entertainment, there's plenty to keep them engaged. Performances by musical groups Capud Draconis and Krless, offering bagpipe and drum performances, promise a lively ambiance. Juggler Hubertus the Wanderer and storyteller The Flying Dutchman will entertain with their funny and scary tales.

For the younger visitors, a special program includes a manually operated carousel, Harlequin games, and archery. Exotic goods such as incense, silver jewelry, and precious stones will be available from travelling merchants.

Entry fees for the medieval market are as follows: for children and those in costume, the fee is four euros, while adults will pay eight euros. Two entry areas have been set up for convenience: via the main entrance to the castle and via Wiesenbornweg.
