Minister Razavi and State Secretary Lindlohr embark on a somber journey, paying respects at various memorial sites

In a significant move to promote cultural heritage, Minister Nicole Razavi will officially launch the 2025 heritage tour on September 10 in Mannheim. The tour, which will also include visits to Seckach-Großeicholzheim, Konstanz, Donaueschingen, and Villingen-Schwenningen, aims to showcase the diverse cultural landscape of Baden-Württemberg.

The statewide opening of the Day of Open Heritage, themed "WERT-voll: priceless or irreplaceable?", will take place on September 13 with the Night of Open Heritage in Mannheim. The event will take place at the Stadthaus N1.

During the tour, Minister Razavi will symbolically activate a digital monument map in Mannheim. This digital map, accessible to the public via the Geoportal Baden-Württemberg, will provide information on approximately 90,000 building and art monuments, and around 30,000 archaeological cultural monuments. Some of the monuments to be visited include the former Cistercian nunnery in Heiligkreuztal, the Roman castle in Konstanz, the MPS Studio in Villingen-Schwenningen, the publishing building Ernst Klett in Stuttgart, and the Schafbrühl settlement in Tübingen.

Mayor Christian Specht of the City of Mannheim, Prof. Dr. Claus Wolf, President of LAD, and Minister Razavi herself will open the Night of Open Heritage in Mannheim. Minister Razavi considers the heritage tour a personal highlight and a source of inspiration.

State Secretary Lindlohr believes that heritage preservation is cultural work in the best sense, as it preserves what binds us. The value of these monuments is not material, but social - and thus priceless. The monuments visited during the tour are not relics, but living places of remembrance and recognition.

A contact form for citizens is available on the Ministry's website, and the contact email for the Press Office of the Ministry for Regional Development and Housing can be found on their website.
