Norfolk business secures a dual victory in the 2025 King's Awards, marking a significant first for the region.
Rocketing Norwich Business Snags Double 2025 King's Award – A First for Norfolk's Manufacturing Sector
Norwich's very own Delta Fire has stormed its way to history, bagging two prestigious 2025 King's Awards for Enterprise. This double victory is a first for the region's manufacturing sector, with Delta Fire recognized for its groundbreaking strides in sustainable development and innovation.
The company, a global leader in bespoke firefighting equipment, has been serving over 100 countries and most of the UK's fire and rescue services. Delta Fire's mission to manufacture world-class sustainable firefighting equipment and provide a green facility for its workforce has seen the investment of millions in Norfolk.
With the completion of a £5.5 million design and high-tech manufacturing base at Broadland Business Park last year, Delta Fire is now adding a 975sqm extension to support its expansion into new international markets. Highlighting its commitment to going green, the business celebrated hitting net-zero energy use at its facility this year.
The site is powered by air source heat pumps, 648 solar panels producing 260MWh of green energy every year, and rainwater collection systems for ground maintenance. A 300kWh battery system supports solar power generation, allowing Delta Fire to generate more energy than it uses for around eight months of the year, with the excess supplied back to the grid. Plans are underway to install up to three helical wind turbines to cover the remaining months.
Delta Fire's innovation is centered on responding to market needs with nozzles and equipment developed for high-rise building fires, wildfires, and electric vehicle fires. Their products can be found across various sectors, including aviation, petrochemical, sustainable energy industries, marine, and defense.
With a team of talented and dedicated workers, including some with over 25 years of service, Delta Fire has continued to push boundaries in the firefighting industry. Its Professional Series Fire Nozzles, compliant with ISO 9001, EN15182, NFPA, and Marine Equipment Directive (MED), are trusted by 90% of the UK's fire and rescue services and various international industrial and defense clients.
In addition to its sustainable site, Delta Fire has planted 3,000 trees in Tanzania, offsetting more than 450 tonnes of CO2 as part of a long-term annual support program. Jordon King, Ian's grandson and a key member of the senior management team, has led the company's focus on innovation and sustainability.
Jerome Mayhew, MP for Broadland and Fakenham, commended Delta Fire for its significant achievements, noting the encouragement it provides for Norfolk's high-tech manufacturing sector.
With its double King's Award, Delta Fire continues to redefine the firefighting industry, combining sustainable manufacturing with innovative product design to provide top-tier solutions for clients worldwide.
