Oklahoma Tobacco Helpline Aids 470K Residents Since 2003
The Oklahoma Tobacco Helpline, funded by the Oklahoma Tobacco Settlement Endowment Trust (TSET), has been assisting Oklahomans in quitting tobacco and vaping since 2003. It offers a range of free services and products, helping over 470,000 residents to date.
The Helpline provides customizable services, including phone and web coaching, motivational texts and emails, and free nicotine replacement products like patches, gum, or lozenges. It also offers the My Life, My Quit program, a text-based service for youth aged 13-17 to help them quit tobacco and vaping.
The Oklahoma Tobacco Helpline encourages building healthy habits through small changes using the Shape Your Future's 5 Step Guide and Healthy Habits Rewards Card. The service increases a tobacco user's chances of successfully quitting by 60 percent. To access these services, Oklahomans can call 1-800-QUIT-NOW, visit OKhelpline.com, or connect through social media platforms. The Readiness Quiz helps users decide which quitting services are right for them.
Since its inception in 2003, over 137,000 Oklahomans have registered for the Oklahoma Tobacco Helpline's free services and products. The Helpline continues to provide support, making it easier for Oklahomans to quit tobacco and vaping.
