Peugeot's i-Cockpit Redefines Driver Experience with Innovative Design
Peugeot has unveiled its innovative i-Cockpit design in the latest models, redefining driver ergonomics and experience. The cabin, developed as part of Peugeot's interior architecture, features a compact steering wheel, raised instruments, and a large touchscreen. However, the specific designer's name remains uncredited.
The i-Cockpit's design is striking and user-friendly, but taller drivers might face challenges finding a comfortable viewing position. The touchscreen is a standout feature, displaying essential information like exterior temperature and aircon settings. It also offers voice activation, wireless screen mirroring, and the ability to connect two phones via Bluetooth simultaneously. Top models boast a premium 10-speaker Focal audio system.
The cabin is well-equipped with two big cup holders, two USB-C sockets, and an additional 34 litres of storage space. The touchscreen's crisp graphics and clear main functions allow for personalized driver profiles with up to eight shortcuts. The 3D 'floating' instrument cluster, standard on GT trim, prominently displays speed and can be configured to suit driver preference.
Despite limited rear seat space, the boot space of 412 litres (361 litres in the hybrid) is larger than that of several competitors, including the Audi A3, BMW 1 Series, VW Golf, Ford Focus, and Mercedes A-Class.
Peugeot's i-Cockpit design offers a striking, user-friendly cabin with innovative features like a large touchscreen and 3D instrument cluster. While rear seat space is somewhat limited, the generous boot space makes it a practical choice among its peers.
