The East Hesse Police Headquarters is set to launch an Instagram Advent calendar on December 1st, as announced by the news aktuell. This annual tradition aims to bring citizens closer to the people behind the uniform and highlight the importance of respect for the police and all those who take on responsibility.
The Instagram Advent calendar, accessible at @polizei_oh, will feature a new video each day, showcasing a police officer and showcasing the diversity of the police profession. Citizens are encouraged to comment on the posts to show their support and appreciation for the people in uniform.
Last year, a total of 274 police officers were registered as victims of crimes in East Hesse, with 19 rescue workers also affected. A significant number of these crimes were resistance and attacks against police officers, totaling 123 cases.
Police President Michael Tegethoff emphasizes that respect means recognizing that there is a person behind every uniform who has chosen to serve the community. Mutual respect is a sign of appreciation and a prerequisite for a safe and functioning society.
The campaign is part of the ongoing social media campaign launched by the Hessian Ministry of the Interior under the hashtag #DutyDeservesRespect.
