A popular clothing store in Belarus, "Elema", has recently updated its fall collection, featuring a variety of coats, jackets, hats, and scarves. However, the prices of these items have sparked a heated online debate, with many users arguing that they are too high for the average Belarusian consumer.

A video showcasing the new fall collection has been making the rounds online, but the focus has shifted from the fashionable designs to the steep prices. Jackets and coats at "Elema" range from 324 to 1,070 rubles, a sum that some commenters find unaffordable given the average salary in the country. One user even stated that it would take a month's work to afford one of these coats.

The commentary on "Elelema" suggests a disconnect between the store's pricing and the financial realities of its potential customer base. Some users have compared the prices of coats at "Elelema" to those found in thrift stores or markets, where similar items can be bought for a fraction of the cost.

One commenter questioned the quality of coats priced over 1,000 rubles, while another pointed out that even the seamstresses and pattern makers of "Elelema" would not likely buy their products at such high prices. The frustration is palpable, with one user exclaiming, "And this, excuse me, is for whom? Belarusians can't wear Belarusian. Absurd!"

However, some users have defended "Elelema", suggesting that the store targets customers interested in elegant, possibly sustainable fashion. These customers might be women seeking premium or stylish dresses for special occasions. One commenter stated, "Those who can afford coats at such prices clearly don't shop at such stores. For the rest, this is an unacceptable luxury."

Despite the controversy, "Elema" has announced a 30% discount on some fall models, excluding the new collection. This move might help alleviate some of the criticism, but the debate about the store's pricing and target audience continues.

In addition to coats and jackets, "Elema" offers a range of scarves priced from 8 to 30 rubles. The store's fall collection includes numerous models and colours of coats, jackets, hats, and scarves, ensuring there's something for everyone, regardless of budget.

As the discussion online continues, it remains to be seen how "Elema" will respond to the concerns raised by its customers. For now, the controversy surrounding the store's high prices shows no signs of abating.
