The Gardens
Six raised beds have been installed in the park, built as a community project and jointly managed and maintained by the city and the Volksmission. Two of these beds are specifically designed for wheelchair users, ensuring accessibility for all. The beds were created from the former school fence of the Nordstadtschule using sustainable upcycling methods, demonstrating the project's commitment to environmental responsibility.
Thomas Schäfer, project manager at Grünwerk, will monitor the beds throughout the year and provide support as needed. The team from Grünwerk, a part of the "BIWAQ WIN.Pf - Perspectives foster" funded neighbourhood management at Q-Prints&Service, supports and guides the project. The social employment agency Q-Prints&Service GmbH also participated in the construction of the raised beds. The Green Space and Civil Engineering Office of the City of Pforzheim, as well as the Technical Services of the City of Pforzheim, collaborated on this project.
The raised beds are now open for anyone in the community to garden. Whether you're an experienced gardener or a beginner, you're welcome to plant herbs, strawberry plants, and more in the raised beds. To get started, simply contact [email protected].
