Regional products to gain prominence through new association
New Association to Boost Regional Products in Regensburg
A new association aimed at promoting high-quality regional products has been established at the Regensburg County Administration. The initiative, named "Ganz Große Küche! Regional.Bio.Regensburg", is set to officially launch in autumn 2025.
The association's structure and statutes have been developed in close collaboration with Doris Luttner and Anna Ramsauer, the spokeswomen of the initiative. The goal is to connect production, processing, trade, gastronomy, and consumers for exchange, collaboration, and joint actions.
The project is not just about marketing, but about valuing regional products throughout the entire value chain. It aims to increase public awareness of the quality and diversity of regional products.
The Bavarian State Ministry for Economic Affairs, Regional Development and Energy is providing support for the project, which is being implemented from 1st June 2024 to 31st May 2027. The "Dachmarke Region Regensburg" regional management project is also offering assistance.
Ongoing projects are providing impulses for the development of the association. The "Ganz Große Küche! Regional.Bio.Regensburg" project is also providing support.
The association plans to facilitate new sales channels through a digital sales platform and targeted cooperation with regional gastronomy. Besides the already involved actors, further organizations and individuals are expected to participate in the founding of the new association. These include local municipalities, representatives from regional development alliances, engaged citizens from advisory bodies, regional agricultural and food ministries, and initiatives focused on sustainable nutrition and food authenticity.
Intensive work on structure, statutes, public relations, and financing will be done in thematically specific working groups in August. Planned measures include joint events, public relations, and new formats for presenting regional delicacies.
