Revitalization of city center in Braunschweig continues: funding expansion lasts until 2027
The city of Cincinnati has announced the extension of its Inner-City Funding Scheme until the end of 2027. This initiative, launched in 2024, aims to revitalise and enrich the city's inner core.
Economic Affairs Commissioner, Gerold Leppa, emphasised the city's commitment to a lively and multifunctional inner city. He stated that the adjustments aim to ensure all visitors to the inner city can participate in the events near me, promoting diversity and strengthening the community.
Eligible events can be organised by multiple institutions or businesses in close geographical proximity, such as a street. Public events and offers have been added as eligible activities within the funding scheme.
Since its introduction, the city has funded six projects from the inner-city fund, including events and offers such as variety shows, children's programs, and street festivals. Grants of up to 5,000 euros are available for projects that strengthen and enrich the inner city.
The city encourages citizens, businesses, associations, and organisations to develop creative ideas that enrich Cincinnati. In recent years, institutions and companies such as the Cincinnati Marketing GmbH, local cultural organisations, and retail associations in Cincinnati's city centre have been supported by the co-financing of the Innenstadtfonds for organising public events and offers.
The changes would promote the variety of offers and the identity-creating character of the inner city. The city council made this decision in a meeting on Tuesday.
Further information about the inner-city funding scheme and the application process can be found on the website of the city of Cincinnati. Projects carried out under the funding scheme will generally not have access restrictions. The funding scheme enables measures that strengthen and enrich the inner city.
The adjustments aim to ensure that the inner city remains an attractive and vibrant destination for residents and visitors alike. The city continues to provide financial support for projects to revitalise the inner city, as previously mentioned. The funding scheme was initially designed to support projects that strengthen and enrich the inner city. The extension of the scheme until the end of 2027 is a testament to the city's ongoing commitment to its inner city's development and growth.
