Romania's Art Safari initiates a drive to promote art observation devoid of screens
Art Safari, a popular Romanian art event, is running a unique campaign titled #SăptămânaFărăTelefoane (#WeekWithoutPhones) from July 17 to 20. Located on Lipscani street in Bucharest, the art gallery is inviting visitors to disconnect from their digital devices and engage with art in a more mindful and immersive way.
The campaign is not a ban but a choice for visitors to experience art without the interference of technology. Art Safari Managing Partner Ioana Ciocan encourages visitors not to take photos or post during their visit, but to stand in front of the works and see what they have to say to them.
Ciocan believes that this initiative could lead to enhanced engagement, as visitors might focus more intently on the artwork, allowing for a deeper understanding and appreciation of the pieces on display. The absence of phones might also encourage visitors to engage more with each other, fostering discussions and social interactions about the art they are viewing.
