Route safety for school commute
In the picturesque town of Bergisch Gladbach, the KRÜGER GROUP has shown its commitment to community safety by donating 1,070 reflective safety vests to first-graders at municipal primary schools. The donation, made twice in 2025, was a generous contribution towards ensuring more safety on the school route.
On August 28, 2025, as 1,070 schoolchildren began their school year, the safety vests were ready to ensure a safer start to the day. Other primary schools will receive the safety vests from week 37 onwards for distribution to the entrance classes.
The neon-green reflective vests, donated by the KRÜGER GROUP, aim to enhance visibility in road traffic, especially during the dark season. This donation is part of the company's efforts to give parents and children a good feeling for the start of the day.
The official handover of the safety vests to the first-graders of the Gemeinschaftsgrundschule Paffrath will take place on September 17, 2025, during the European Mobility Week. The ceremony will be attended by school management, all first-graders, managing directors of IP GL, representatives of the KRÜGER GROUP, and other officials.
Nurten Bongard, Senior Communication Manager of the KRÜGER GROUP, emphasized the importance of good visibility in road traffic. Susanne Heuckmann, principal of the Gemeinschaftsgrundschule Paffrath, expressed her happiness about the safety vests.
Willi Schmitz, one of the managing directors of IP GL, expressed the importance of providing reflective safety vests for first-graders. IP GL, responsible for traffic safety measures in Bergisch Gladbach, has been working to increase the safety of first-graders, including equipping them with reflective safety vests.
The safety vests will be distributed by GL-Service gGmbH or the police. The donation from the KRÜGER GROUP was used to finance the safety vests for the second time.
The Infrastructure and Project Company Bergisch Gladbach (IP GL) GmbH and the KRÜGER GROUP are setting an example for corporate social responsibility, ensuring a safer environment for the young minds of Bergisch Gladbach.
