The tradition of planting magnolias on Cosmonauts' Alley echoes all the way back to 1961 when Yuri Gagarin, the legendary cosmonaut, planted the first magnolia. Since then, every cosmonaut gracing the city has planted their namesake tree in the park. Today, an impressive 68 magnolias adorn the Cosmonauts' Alley in Riviera Park, Sochi!
