Samsung's AI-integrated domestic appliances, dubbed Bespoke, have hit the market, but are they as useful as advertised?
Samsung Unveils 2025 Bespoke AI Appliance Lineup
Samsung has announced its new Bespoke AI appliance lineup, a collection of high-performance, energy-efficient, and user-friendly home appliances. The range includes refrigerators, washing machines, air conditioners, and more, all designed to simplify home management, enhance energy savings, offer personalised experiences, and improve the ergonomics and connectivity of everyday appliances within a cohesive smart home environment.
At the heart of the Bespoke AI lineup is the AI Home interface, a polished, modern, and cohesive design that runs across all appliances. This interface allows for multi-command voice control via Bixby and Voice ID recognition, personalising fridge content and settings to recognised users based on voice profiles.
The Bespoke AI refrigerator, for instance, includes the "AI Vision Inside" feature, which uses cameras to recognise fresh food items and packaged goods, tracking expiry dates and suggesting recipes to reduce food waste. The Auto Open Door feature and sleek design enhance usability and style. Voice control understands multiple commands in a single sentence for hands-free operation, and the Voice ID feature personalises fridge content and settings to recognised users based on voice profiles, seamlessly switching Samsung accounts and calendars for individual family members.
In laundry, the Bespoke AI All-in-One Washer-Dryer Combo eliminates the need to transfer clothes, intelligently adjusting wash and drying cycles using AI for fabric care and cleaning efficiency. The top-load washers in the Bespoke AI line offer automatic fabric recognition and AI-powered cycle optimisation, along with features like Ecobubble, AI VRT+, and Super Speed modes for faster cycles.
The Bespoke AI WindFree Air Conditioner uses AI to adjust the compressor speed based on usage patterns and has a "WindFree" mode that disperses air through 23,000 tiny holes to save energy.
Samsung’s Bespoke AI dishwasher was recognised for ergonomic innovation, including an auto-open door and glide rails for ease of use, as well as custom cleaning areas tailored to different dish types.
The new products also support screen readers, larger fonts, and offer voice alerts, making them more accessible. Doors open automatically, and control panels are more inclusive in the new products.
Some of Samsung's products have received a 'Diamond' level IoT security rating, ensuring better protection for the smart home ecosystem. There's tight integration with SmartThings, Samsung's home automation platform.
While many of the features in the new lineup aren't exactly new, AI is hoped to make them more dependable and useful. The Bespoke AI lineup is targeted at urban, tech-friendly buyers who already live in connected homes.
